My longest relationship with any climbing shoe could possibly be with the Boreal Ace. It seems to have passed the test of time through many different environments. As a fairly stiff shoe, I found it to be very stable on technical face climbs as well as fun cracks. The only time that the Aces went to the bottom of my “go to shoe list” was during any slabby routes; but that could be due to the fact that I don’t like slabby routes. Sized right, this makes for an amazing all day shoe.

I like the Aces for trad climbs or any thin, technical climbs where edging performance is super important. They're not great for overhanging or pockets where you need to hook and pull with your toes, but I don't think that's their intended purpose. These were the first pair of shoes I ever bought.
