This is a good intermediate shoe, comfortable with a good fit. The padded tongue and lacing system realy make for a good fit, but they never had the sensitivity that I have come to expect from Boreal. I should note that since I purchased my Spiders they have redesigned them and reformulated the rubber. The new FS Quattro is on my last 2 pairs of shoes and they are a bit more sticky and seemed to be a bit more forgiving so take that into consideration. The new Spiders are Blue in color. (I owned the grey/cream color pictured)

They gave me a great fit, but did not give me the 'feel' you normally develop with a climbing shoe. I think it can be a good shoe for the lower grades, but it is not a highend shoe, which might not have been the scope of Boreal in developing this shoe. Durability is very good as the sole and rand are in one piece, but perhaps this is the problem as well.
