These were the first ever pair of climbing shoes and as a rank amature I didn't know what I was looking for. (That and the sales asistant was of no help). I now work in an outdoor store selling and fitting climbing shoes. I went with these because they were comfortable and supportive as they have a full board last, providing plenty of support for week toes. BUT, I did a lot of gym climbing when I first started and soon found that they weren't the best when the angle got more than 10 deg over hung. A great shoe of you are an entry level climber that mostly climbs outside, or some one wanting a comfortable all day trad shoe. Not an ideal gym shoe (go for something a little more flexible), or sport or bouldering shoe. Great for comfort and support (stiff as!!!)

Great for the beard strokers amongst us.
