Evolv's Pontas Lace is a much stiffer version of the Pontas, the Pontas Lace is a sporty outdoor shoe that performs brilliantly at edging. With the added rand rubber around the toe box, it can also be used as a more technical traditional climbing shoe.

By far, my favorite shoe. The stiffness is excellent for a lot of technical climbs. The comfort is superb. The heel is great, albeit a little loose. The rand feels great for toe hooks and cracks. The rubber performs to a high standard. The overall comfort is great. I wore them out of the box for a competion and had no problem. I wear them primarily for bouldering and they work great. If you are looking for a high performance shoe without sacrificing comfort, these are your shoes. Evolv has produced another great shoe.
A good option for an all around shoe. I like the stickiness of the rubber, coupled with the stiffness of the midsole. After about a six month break in (100 climbing days) the shoes really began to perform. Really enjoyed slab work in these shoes, as well as vertical to slightly overhanging routes. Pocket performance is ok, but they are definitely a bit stiff for overhangs.
Wore these as an all around pair for awhile, and they are still kicking around. The rubber seems to wear at about the same rate as any other rubber I've worm, while being pretty sticky. Performed on all sorts of terrain, and still do. Right now, I have several pairs I prefer, so they don't see a lot of use.
I like Evolv shoes, overall, especially at the price they come at. While I've had no personal problems with the durability of Evolv shoes, I do recommend you check out the shoes before you buy them. Many pairs worn by friends and partners have worn out quite quickly. Some of these by climbers with incredibly precise footwork. I recommend a thorough rand inspection for any soft spots before purchasing a pair of Evolv shoes.
Recommended, if you can buy them in person. Great shoe for long edging climbs, and as a primary shoe.
This is a good shoe for single pitch trad or sport climbing where you will be doing lot of edging or crack climbing. The heel cup on it is to large for my foot, i do have a low volume heel. The quality of the shoe is fairly nice aside form the heel, the ruber has started delaminating from the shoe after about 4 months of use. It doesn't do anything extrodinary. It's comfortable to a point but i find myself having to unlace after about 3 pitches because the heel rand is quit strong and pushes your foot forward and crunches the toes. The extra ruber around the top of the shoe does make you feel more secure when crack climbing and the relative stifness of the shoe makes it feel like you are standing on stairs at the same time it makes this shoe not so good a smearing. The rubber is great. Evolv definetly has the best rubber on the market. In my opinion the Red Bandit is a far superior shoe and costs less, so the only thing you are paying for with this shoe is the fact that Chris Sharma designed it.
these shoes are better than the regular ponti depending on if youre more into sport and trad. not too great for bouldering in my opinion. not bad for indoor but i personally dont like lace ups. theyre pretty comfortable and really stiff so that makes them great for edging but i find them to be pretty generic and nothing extraordinary.
Fantastic shoes for cracks and edging. My go to trad shoe. With these shoes, I feel solid on micro dime edges. The downside is that the stiffness inhibits smearing. Great shoe.
Awesome all around shoe, I got mine for tradly climbing and I love them!
greatness
this is a shoe you can send anything in.... great fit
Pont Lace
Love these shoes for long multi pitch days. These shoes are very high performance without having to be tight making them great for long routes. Great for routes that have both face climbing and crack climbing. Since they are made out of synthetic material, you can wear these on long days without any stretching, they hold their shape well.
