Strong, stiff, and durable. If it came in a high top as well, I would own it! Far and away my favorite trad shoe, mainly because of the amount of support it gives you.
When the line switches to face climbing, this isn't the best shoe to be in. The stiffness of the shoe really limits sensitivity, to the point you really can't feel what you are on. I don't like them for slab lines for this reason. Really just a pure crack shoe.
I like Evolv shoes, overall, especially at the price they come at. While I've had no personal problems with the durability of Evolv shoes, I do recommend you check out the shoes before you buy them. Many pairs worn by friends and partners have worn out quite quickly. Some of these by climbers with incredibly precise footwork. I recommend a thorough rand inspection for any soft spots before purchasing a pair of Evolv shoes.
Recommended. Of the crack shoes currently on the market this seems to perform very well at a great price.
This shoe does it it was made for, no more no less. If it's splitter cracks you are after then buy a pair. THis shoe makes crack climbing like walking up stairs. This shoe is board lasted which means it's supper stiff and has a ton of support, insert foot into crack turn and step up repeat. i sized these 1 size up from my street shoe and couldn't be happier with them for anything from hands to chimneys.
