Picked these up as a cheap gym shoe and use them way more outside than I thought I would. I'd heard to Defy performed poorly but tried the SE because it had a different heel design. It's really a great boot, especially for the money. I use it as a warm-up and mileage boot, as well as for moderate trad climbs, but it performs pretty well on most terrain. It's similar in feel to the Pontas but left stiff and, hence, more comfortable. It doesn't perform as well but it's fine for about 90% of the stuff I do. From what I hear it's a big jump in performance from the Defy.
