FREE CLIMBING SHOES??

Not convinced? Allow me to explain. My name’s Sam and I started Climbing Shoe Review in 2018. Since the beginning, the team and I have been on a mission to create the most complete and insightful climbing shoe resource on the internet.

But to do that, the reviews from our testing aren’t enough. To ensure we are sharing the most helpful and accurate shoe knowledge possible I need you, and fellow shoe lovers, to share your knowledge.

I know you’re busy, and in an ideal world I would like to personally thank every person who takes the time to help grow our little website, but unfortunately, that isn’t possible. That’s why we created this ongoing competition, where four times a year we will give away a brand-new pair of shoes. You just tell us the model and size, and we take care of the rest.

Ready to get started? Here’s how you can get involved right now.

Step 1: Write a review

There’s an easy trick to increasing your chances of getting a free pair of climbing shoes: share as many reviews as you can! It’s really that simple.

To get started, head over to our shoe library and browse through the list of shoes our testing team has put through their paces. Once you have found a shoe you have real experience with (no fake reviews please, those don’t help anybody!) click on the shoe and scroll to the bottom of the review page.

At the bottom of every review page, you will see a review box like the one shown above. This is where you can share your insights into the shoe. First up, add your first name and email (your email will not be shown publicly, and will only be used to contact winners).

Begin by filling out the numerical performance scores of the shoe. Your scores are really important and will be combined with our testing teams to create an average final score for each shoe. Next, share your thoughts and feedback in the comment box. Feel free to comment on anything you feel is worth mentioning. Some talking points may include:

• Sizing advice – How did the shoe fit? Did you need to downsize? If so, by how much? What was the width of the shoe, the shape of the toe box, or the volume like? 
• Performance overview – How well did the shoe perform? What sort of terrain did they perform best on? Are there any standout features you love/hate?
• Value For Money? Would you recommend this shoe? Is there another comparable shoe you are a better option? 

The more insightful your review, the more helpful your fellow climbers will find it. Once you’re ready, hit publish! Every review you publish will give you 3 entries into the draw. Feel free to share as many reviews as you like!

Step 2: Maximise Your Chances with multiple entries!

Sharing shoe reviews will offer you the biggest chances of winning free shoes, but as you might have noticed above, there are a few more ways you can increase your chances of winning. Be sure to subscribe to the Hard Climbs weekly newsletter (one email a week with all the biggest news from the world of rock climbing), share the competition with your friends, and answer questions for extra entries!

Step 3: Winners are selected and 

Every quarter, we will select a winner at random and contact the winner, via the email address used to enter the competition. The dates for competition draws are as follows:

• 20th March
• 20th June
• 20th September
• 20th December 

Be sure to keep an eye on your junk folder around these dates, we would hate for you to miss out! 

The Boring Bits – Terms and Conditions

By participating in the competition you are agreeing to these competition terms and conditions. 

Eligibility to Enter

The competition is open to entrants over 18 years of age. Employees and associates of Climbing Shoe Review are excluded from the draw. By entering the competition, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and are eligible to receive any prizes that may be awarded to you 

The Prize

The winning prize will be a new pair of climbing shoes up to the value of $200. The use of specific brands as prizes does not imply any affiliation with or endorsement of such brands. The prize is non-exchangeable, and no cash alternatives will be provided.

We reserve the right to substitute prizes of equal or greater value if circumstances beyond our control require doing so. Climbing Shoe Review’s decision on any aspect of the competition is final and binding, and no correspondence will be entered into about it.

Winner Announcement

The winner will be chosen at random and notified via the email address provided on the dates shown above. Climbing Shoe Review will make two attempts to contact the winner via email.

If the winner does not respond to the emails informing them of their win within five working days of the second email, they forfeit their right to the prize, and Climbing Shoe Review reserves the right to select and notify a new winner.

Delivery of the Prize

The winner will allow 14 days for the prize to be delivered, otherwise, alternative collection or delivery arrangements can be made through mutual agreement. Climbing Shoe Review will pay up to $10 for delivery of the prize. If another size is required, the winner is liable to pay the return postage of the shoes to the retailer.

Data Protection

You agree that any personal information that you provide when entering the competition will be used by Climbing Shoe Review for the purposes of administering the competition and for other purposes as specified in our Privacy Policy.

All entrants may request information on the winning participant by emailing sam@climbingshoereview.com. If requested the winner agrees to release their first name and country of residence to any other competition participants.

Limitation of Liability

Climbing Shoe Review accepts no liability for any damage, loss, injury, or disappointment suffered by any entrants as a result of participating in the competition or being selected for a prize. We reserve the right, at any time and without prior notice, to cancel the competition or amend these terms and conditions.
